Dear all,

Seasonal greetings.

In fact I have encountered something weird lately. We have seen a small amount of 9w HAMs who are so against the criteria of CW to be set as the yardstick for becoming a 9m. Needless to name them, we definitely know one of them for that he has been making a lot of fuss on MARES mass mailing discussion over the abolishment of CW and put up a motto, “tak nak to CW”.

I have heard this 9w who’s an expert on 23cm and ISS hunting, whose father is a 9m, been calling CQ on 20 meters CQ contest on 14.255mhz at 12.05pm 15-July-2007 using his father callsign. Why I know? Simple, because I have worked him before on 2m.

Two issues here. First being is it legal for a 9w to use a 9m callsign, despite the 9m callsign belongs to his/her dad, mom, cousins, granddad, grandma, brothers, sisters or neighbours to call CQ and even enter into contests?

2nd, since he’s so against CW and given the fact that he kept promoting the use of microwave bands and how superior is it and simple to hit the bird, he should refrain himself, as a sane human being, from some HF bands allocated to 9m, and not intrude by illegally like that, and stick to bands allocated to 9w.

Fruit for thought, if you like to play full HF bands, go sit for your CW and stop quacking around asking people say “tak nak to CW”.

MCMC has to do something about this to uphold the quality of radio amateurs in Malaysia.

Please be an honest person.

Like that also can!!!
He try to be smart and the actual 9M's licence holder just wondering how he pass???

No good lah.....to deceived those foreign dx stations coz the phone voice was not of the original 9m's licence holder???
9W's if u r interested to work all HF band please take up CW.
MCMC please maintained CW test and at 12wpm so that Malaysian are of qualility hams standard.

Listerning on most of the repeaters n the way the QSO conducted like now ROJAK procedure.
Some guys are not shameful technically talking rubbish on repeaters.

9W's please follow the MCMC guide lines operating procedure and discipline yrself. Otherwise, if everyone follows....... this will cause big mess and reflects bad image on Amateur Radio Malaysia.

The future Malaysia hams generation is very much depending on all these young 9w's guys.
V succefully got the 9M's licence with CW test and V R not allow to TX without passing the CW test.
Therefore, NO shortcut for every successful people.

Hi!!! Jello the 9M HF police,

This notice is to weakup all ham fellows, Jangan Main Main and follows MCMC standard operating procedure.

Yes, many countries have open up the HF band but it's always the MCMC as the authority priciple to decide what best for our citizens.
V do not hv to follow others and what's wrong to learn CW???
It's just that you guys are stubbone n refused to learn CW.
Tell U CW is still the fastest means of sending messages in the events of emergency with low power.
Whereby, all land lines is down.

Anyway, MCMC please tighten the licence we want quality than quantity hams in Malaysia.
Yes, does were the days.....we have the pride but now???

Jello, well done this served as a warning to all.

Even a SWL can have a QSO on HF under the callsign and presence of 9M2. So what the fuss all about.
In a contest there there are many categories, sigle operator single band, multi operator single band, multiband operator single band and multi operator multi band.

Come on man ,let us have some tolerance. My 9M2 station is under utilised, any 9W interested to use , please contact me.

37yrs 9M,

Thank you for shedding some lights here...obviously, from your explanation, there are actually some 9Ms that are actually ignorant. They are somehow stuck in their own. Very fast blaming the 9Ws but did not check the facts.
I thought 9Ms is supposedly assist, teach and guide the young 9Ws... but it's too bad! I forgot that we live in Malaysia and we are Malaysian. It's in our blood and that's how the Malaysian is brought up. We have all kind of people but most of us here is definately highly graded as the holder of
"PHD" aka PANGKAT HASAD DENGKI.

emm....what is the standard procedure, mr? please "teach" us, where we learned from the frequency is not correct one.

can you just Teach us, by NOT PUNISHING new hams?

and seems like our normal qso was not that standard, can anyone (even any Anonymous)just give a chance for a mistakes correction "on the spot"?

where i have doing nothing out there. just to passes messages.

Well, we hv to revise the operating procedure which seems to be subjective to new opeartors.
Many 9W will say QRX QRT!!! which is a wrong opearting procedure.

If you want just go ahead with QRT that it's.
I agreed with posting 8.56pm posting.
Perhaps, Marts council should come out with a new standard guidelines on the opearting procedure.

Anyway, for sure QRX than QRT is definately wrong.
So, stop making the same silly mistake again.

It had been a tradition that 9M guide the new members.Either imparting their knowlwdge in how to pass RAE and construction techniques. In earlier years we have do construct our own transmitters and antennas. To pass the RAE was not easy. It is not just answering a, b, c or d.
However things changed a few years ago due to a few arrogant 9W. I say few because the majority are OK.Being old or senior we are more sensitive and we felt that we are not wanted so we kept away. Either their MARTS membership lapse or become non active members. This situation can be reversed, just approach the seniors ask them to assist. They may not be able to climb towers but their vast experience are valuable.Swallow a bit of your pride and I am sure things will improve.
God said " Ask and it shall be given "

Excuse me..there! When driving, do you always put your turn indicator when making a turn. How many times do you stop at BERHENTI sign, which the law says you must stop and go but most of us slow down and go. In other countries, the BERHENTI(STOP) sign means you need to stop and go. You will be given a summon if slow down without stopping and go. So those who make such fuss on not following procedures should look at their own backyard before pointing finger at others. Give those people a break as some of them are new in Ham. Don't tell me the moment you were born, you can walk. Dig it!

so... er... if we makes mistake(s) will we get a summon?

so painful to get a license, and even painful to get a lesson.
and now kena shoot lagi painful.

who's the smart fella said his 9m station is under-utilised? multiband multiuser craps?

a 9w should never cross the boundary of a 9m's priviledge asfar as license limitation is concerned.

u pointed out that even an SWL can have QSO under the supervision of a lincensed ham. true enough, but does that mean HAMs to be will no longer need to sit for their license? and enjoy all the radio fun a lincesed ham used to nejoy?

supervsion is for first time exposure and not for participating in contest, u "smart" fella.

police or not is another matter, but this is a world with rules and regulations and it's expected to be upheld. if u don't uphold any, then go live in a jungle. but they have rules too... the law of food chain.

if that fella saying his 9m staton is under-utilised, so i guess the same principles applies to his extra nice cars (if he has any), extra unused money sitting in the bank's FD, unit trust/equities and all.

operation under supervision is fine, but not use another's callsign and dsguise as himself!

i have the recorded clips of the QSO of that guy... interested?

and to SAS, you do not deserve to be a human cos u choose to break procedures and regulations deliberately. it's a shame as a human. FYI, i do follow all procedures, QSO procedures, logbook, the maintenance of stations and all. and i never intrude the privilege of 9M.

the sentence u quote is especially meaningful too... "Don't tell me the moment you were born, you can walk. Dig it!". and that's why, we learn how to twist our body, then crawl, then stand up and walk.... these are all PROCEDURES too. DIG IT!!!

..to deserve to be human is not your decision to make and to judge at others as well. Think you are a waste of earth's oxygen. If you think you are so good at PROCEDURES and be regimental...Go JOIN the ARMY! You expect other to QSO to be perfecto... as long as we understand each other on air on Q codes is ok.....not meaning we don't care of procedures. If you think you are so proud of yourself of being a PROCEDURE man as 9M2,by the way, I have met with other better 9M2 who is far more humble than you. There are ppl who are still learning to QSO, and there should be given a chance to learn.
to the fella Jello, if you don't fully understand what I wrote on my first note, I 4give you, as I didn't even paint a picture that I deliberately break procedure. I was asking if others follows procedures in their life before pointing fingers at others. DIG IT!

In every game there are rules and regulations. In amateur radio the SOP or standard operating procedures apply. If one has passed the RAE then he/she should know about the SOP unles he passed the RAE under dubious means. That is why to get the amateur licence one has to pass the RAE.

Unlike Citizens band where there are no SOP, one can hantam as he likes .. Try listening to 27Mhz then you will know ahat I mean.I dread to think what will happen if MCMC proposal to allow 9W to use 40m band. With present situation on 2m, 40m will be havoc and the world will be watching us.

The choice is yours... amateur or citizens band..

Always amateur

Who is this anonymous 7/20/2007 7:40 PM? I had to jump in & say something. Army? We learn procedures even in school. Not only in army. I know nuts about army. All I can say is you are a piece of junk who doesn’t understand what others are focusing on. We are talking about illegal use of other’s callsign to participate in contest which, only class A license holders are eligible. But you go on & say, turn indicator la, berhenti la, oxygen la, waste la, procedures la….. you go to hell la…. Don’t talk anything without a point. Your mother doesn’t like that.

To the anonymous who wrote 5.09, I think you don't read the full context of the comment. he's writing in response to procedure of Q codes la. read the stuff clearly and made your comment wise before you jump the gun. You are embarrassing yourself in this blog if you don't read other comments properly and jump in to sacrifice your dignity.
He did put the caption 11.21 of the blog he's pointing out to. the anonymous didn't even comment on non 9M2 using 9M2 callsign in the first place. Read and understand before you jump in and create further debates.

Yea! To anonymous 5.09, you are commenting to people on focus and you are making a statement which you are not focusing and tells his mama doesn't like it. I think your mama never teach you to understand and be focus. What 'neutral party' wrote is correct as the blogger didn't even touch on the subject of illegal usage of callsign of 9M2. I think you are causing undue debates here. Learn from the ground and ask your mama to teach you. As such blog bringing in family is uncall for, especially you. Do you like when I tell you to hide under your mama skirt. kekeke!
